Video> On the Day of Eid
Issue 60 September 2009
The Day of Eid-al-Fitr arrives after the month of Ramadan, a month of restraint and patience.
Eid is a day of celebration, with plenty of food and a time for Muslim families and friends to share their happiness together.
And so Muslims around the world celebrate the occasion with lights and decorations, dress in their finest clothes, giving treats to the children, and visiting friends and relatives.
Eid is an occasion for togetherness and celebration as well as spiritual uplift. This day is an expression of gratitude to God and so the celebration of the day begins with Prayer.
