Video> Palestine Will Be Free: Maher Zain
Awakening Records is pleased to announce the release of the world's first animated peace music video. 'Palestine will be Free' was directed by Andrew Morgan of Chase Animation and features a song performed by Awakening's latest music sensation - Maher Zain.
The video features the story of a young brave Palestinian girl who never loses hope for a better future despite the harsh realities surrounding her.
Maher Zain tells us about how the song came about.
"It was during the bombing and attack on Gaza in January 2009 when I was moved to make a song about Palestine. But my first aim for making the track "Palestine Will Be Free" was to remind myself and everybody else that it is still going on, and that we should always give at least one thought every day to these human beings, who are just like us, their only crime is that they were born in Palestine, and who has any control over where he or she are born?
Palestine is a symbol for struggling against injustice, so when I sing about Palestine, I am also singing about all other countries around the world in which my fellow brothers and sisters in humanity are suffering from injustice, irrespective of their faith or ethnicity."
Bara Kherigi, Director of Awakening Records emphasises the importance of the song's message.
"We at Awakening Records have tried to use art and music to highlight the injustices being visited upon the Palestinians and to show our solidarity with them. This animated music video for our new star artist Maher Zain is just another step in that direction and certainly not the last insha-Allah. The aim or message of the music video is to highlight the plight of the Palestinians and show reality as it is but at the same time send out a message that we hope bloodshed and violence ends and peace prevails."
Darren Wall, Producer of Chase Imagination talks of a positive experience.
"It has been a great experience for both myself and Chase Imagination to contribute to this evocative film and we hope the message of peace and hope will resonate with those who watch it."
